Our Story

Detroit Aesthetic Club is a “clever” play on words nodding to the legendary speakeasy the Detroit Athletic Club.

Our blog attempts to document that spirit and ingenuity at clubs, bars, restaurants and speakeasies around southeastern Michigan and beyond. The Detroit Athletic club is the birthplace of The Last Word Cocktail, and so many others. We will attempt to explore where you can get a taste of old an new drinks and find places you can explore to step into a place as special as the real club.

Who am I

Hi, I’m sedwards, and I love finding the finest cocktails out there. I enjoy making them at home, too. But when I can I love to find places where the cocktail menu has really be invested in by experts who can produce entirely new flavors and experiences.
